The best way to implement font icons

By Kieran Hunter

Recently I switched to using a service called Icomoon to display font icons on my site. They have a huge array of icons, and you can also upload your custom icons and use them the same way.

The IcoMoon app lets you build and use your own icon sets in different formats including SVG, icon font or simple PNG/CSS sprites.

With icomoon you can select and import specific icons that you need, rather than linking to a massive library of icons, especially if you're only using 4 for example, out the 50 your site would otherwise be loading.

You host the icons locally on your server rather than from a link, meaning you can also use them offline.
